About Auntie House of Plants

Auntie House of Plants is a family-owned plant shop in Brooklyn, New York. We are a New York LLC, registered in Kings County in March 2022, and we are run by Roshell and her husband. Our shop sits inside a brownstone at 771 Rogers Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226.

What we sell online

Our website carries the plants we ship across the contiguous United States — monstera, pothos, snake plants, dracaena, philodendron, spider plants, olive trees, white blooming roses, bird of paradise, alocasia, euphorbia, and cacti. Each listing is a live plant in a nursery pot, selected from the kinds of plants we sell in our shop. Orders ship free, with no minimum. Each plant is wrapped, braced, and boxed to limit movement in transit, and we add insulated liners, heat packs, or cold packs when the forecast calls for them. If a plant arrives damaged, unhealthy, or incorrect, send us photos within 7 days of delivery and we will review the claim and work with you on a replacement or refund.

Because every plant is a living thing, the one you receive will not be an exact copy of the photo — size, leaf shape, and growth vary a little from plant to plant. Each listing includes photos and notes on size and condition so you know what to expect.

In our Brooklyn shop

The shop at 771 Rogers Avenue carries a wider selection than we list online: indoor and outdoor plants, herbs, succulents, pet-friendly plants, soil, and fertilizers. We hold a plant care workshop most Saturdays at 2:00 PM, and we offer curbside pickup for orders placed by phone. Street parking is usually available on Rogers Avenue, and we accept credit cards and cash in store.

How we work

If you have a question about a plant, you will usually reach one of us directly — Roshell or her husband — rather than a call center. Customer reviews have mentioned that we are knowledgeable and that our prices are fair, and we try to live up to that: we restock the shop regularly to keep the selection fresh, and we give straight answers about care, light, and watering, whether it is your first pothos or a plant you have kept for years.

We typically respond to emails within one business day. Whether you are picking a first pothos or a 15-gallon euphorbia tree, you are welcome to come by, ask questions, and find a plant that fits your space.
